Tablelands Highway Stage 2

Aldebaran Contracting

Northern Territory

IBE Contracting was engaged to assist Aldebaran Contracting with the installation of the project camp and of approximately 3.6km of guardrail on the Tablelands Hwy. A job of this size required a lot of planning and assistance. Luke worked with the primary contractor (Aldebaran Contracting) to obtain the required project information / timing and was able to map the project out well in advance of commencement on site. Materials were obtained through local business Rhino Industrial and delivered to the site on the Tablelands Hwy ready for installation.

With Luke and his team completing the works on the Buntine Hwy he progressed on to the works at the Tablelands with all materials available on site to commence. Installation on the project began on time and progressed well with minimal interruptions to the primary contractors works program.

IBE Contracting was heavily involved in the establishment works at Tablelands Hwy Stage 2. The works involved setting up of the accommodation units in conjunction with plumbing and electrical trades to ensure the smooth operation of the camp over the term of the project. Works also included the establishment of a prefabricated 20m workshop. Due to our founder Luke Clarke’s significant experience working in the building industry, this project was managed effectively and to the clients expectations.

The construction of the guardrail for the project, despite the significant amount of materials required on the works, progressed with the team averaging approximately 100- 150m of guardrail installed per day across the project. However, half-way through the project there were significant floods in the area which caused a moderate delay in the project delivery timeframes.

All installations were undamaged at the end of the flooding and as soon as it was out of the way our team were back into installing the remainder of the railing.

The project was completed on time and delivered to the client’s specifications.

Indigenous employment for the project was >70%.
