In September 2020 IBE Contracting were notified that they would be completing the protection works for Aldebaran Contracting on the Mango Roads projects. This was great however, it required a significant ramp up of staffing to meet the project requirements. IBE Contracting worked with Goal Indigenous Services to provide additional staffing for the labour intensive works that were required on the ground. IBE were engaged to provided 13,773m2 of renomattress erosion protection works as well as a further 11 Gabion drop structures.
Luke and the team’s works progressed rapidly however, the wet season was always going to pose a serious challenge to the drainage aspect of the works. The Mocatto Road Floodway was part of a greater floodplain area which has significant weather events every year which is why there was the significant investment in flood prevention in this area.
At various stages throughout the project there was up to 20 staff from IBE Contracting on site completing the required labouring works to complete the project.
With the major works completed IBE were able to continue to progress as the weather became more and more challenging with the 2020/21 wetseason being a bigger one than had been seen in recent history. Luke and his team were able to finish this particularly challenging project on time and to the clients specification.
